TUSCALOOSA, Ala-Despite a spirited home crowd, Stillman College volleyball couldn’t secure a win against Talladega College, losing in three sets with scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-13. Nylah Billingsley’s impressive serving led to a 5-0 run for the Tigers in the first set, the longest scoring streak of the match.
Raine Patterson stood out for Stillman with five kills, three of which came in the second set. Talladega College was led by Kiana Polk’s 10 kills, with Re’na Ashley contributing eight and Nedu Evans and Josephine Gates each adding seven.
Looking ahead, Stillman (0-4) will continue their non-conference HBCU schedule with a match against Miles College on Tuesday, September 5, before diving into Southern States Athletic Conference play against Loyola University and William Carey University next weekend.
