Texas A&M Proves Too Strong for GSU, Tigers Fall 8-0

COLLEGE STATION, Texas |Grambling State University women’s soccer team faced a tough match against Texas A&M, resulting in an 8-0 loss. A&M dominated the first half, scoring six goals and securing a comfortable lead. Despite Grambling State’s defensive efforts, A&M continued their momentum, scoring seven more unanswered goals.
In terms of statistics, Texas A&M outshot GSU 34-5, with 19 shots on goal compared to GSU’s four. A&M also had an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks. Both teams committed a similar number of fouls, with GSU committing 13 and A&M committing 15. Additionally, both teams were called offsides twice.
Madison Covey-Taylor, the goalkeeper for Grambling State, made an impressive 10 saves during her 75 minutes of play. Aimee Benton also saw action in goal, recording five saves. Despite the setback, Grambling State’s overall season record now stands at 2-3-3.
Though the match didn’t go in their favor, the Grambling State women’s soccer team continues to show determination and resilience on the field.
