NORFOLK, Va. | The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) will host its annual MEAC Football Media Day, presented by Wells Fargo, on Friday, July 21 at 12 p.m. at the Hilton Norfolk the Main.
Head coaches and two student-athletes from each of the MEAC’s six football-playing institutions will be in attendance. The in-person media session will begin at 11 a.m., and a live show will air on ESPN+ at Noon, during which the predicted order of finish will be revealed.
Norfolk State offensive lineman Baron Franks II and defensive back Joseph White will be joining head coach Dawson Odums at the event. The Spartans are looking to rebound off a 2-9 campaign last season, including a 2-3 record inside conference play.
Norfolk State begins the 2023 season with the annual Labor Day Classic as the Spartans play host to Virginia State on Saturday, Sept. 2. Kickoff against the Trojans is set for 2 p.m. from William “Dick” Price Stadium.
The 2023 MEAC football season will kick off on Saturday, Aug. 26, with the annual Cricket MEAC/SWAC Challenge, pitting South Carolina State against Jackson State at Center Parc Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. The game will broadcast live on ABC for the first time.
